Sonia Levitin: Hello, my name is Sonia Levitin. I acquired the name Levitin when I got married over 50 years ago, and at that time, I learned that Levitin means 'son of Levi'. The Levi tribe were one of the 12 tribes of the Jewish people, and Moses was a Levi. The Levi tribe was in charge of maintaining the holy temple in Jerusalem, so that was a very important job, and they also played instruments during the services.

So, I really like the name Levi; my maiden name was Wolf, which incidentally, I'm thinking came from the tribe of Benjamin, because the tribe of Benjamin was always associated with Wolf. So I guess I have a quite long Jewish history with both my names.
