Does TeachingBooks offer options to customize or limit the content students see?
Yes. Beyond the evaluated and hand curated collection of materials selected by the TeachingBooks professional collection development librarians, TeachingBooks offers a set of Curation and Content Control tools.
Through the following technological tools, TeachingBooks enables users to tailor which resources are accessible to students in their community:
Curation Controls: Administrators can set curation controls for your account that limit student access and searching to books classified for specific grade levels.
Parental Controls: Adults can set browser-specific controls on any device to limit student access and searching to titles based on selected grade levels.
Focused Sharing Tools: Adults can limit students to view only specific resources or sets of books that they choose to share.
- Activate sharing "this resource only" from the Share menu on any resource.
- Activate "Embed this list" from the left navigation menu on the display of any booklist.
Suppression Controls: Authorized administrators at the institution level can request resources for a specific title be blocked for students.
To initiate curation and/or suppression controls, please see your administrator. Questions: accounts@TeachingBooks.net | 216-573-6886 (Press 2)
