Paul Fleischman: Hello. My name is Paul Fleischman. My full name is Paul Taylor Fleischman. Fleischman, German. meat man, butcher, a Taylor, someone who sews. Interestingly, those two jobs were somewhat connected in my case. My father's family was Jewish, passed through Germany at some point in the distant past, picked up the name Fleischman, but was living in Russia before my ancestors immigrated. My father's father was a tailor, oddly, my mother's maiden name.

When my parents met, my mother's family had come centuries before from England, worked their way across country. They were not Jewish. My father's parents were not too pleased about that, until they saw my mother's amazing skills with a needle and thread and how tiny and fine and perfect her stitches were. They then gave their approval and welcomed her into the family. Taylor meets Fleischman.
