Elaine Scott: Hello, my name is Elaine Scott. That's not E-laine or A-laine, but ELAINE with the accent on the second syllable. My mother tells me that she named me after the Elaine in the famous poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson, Lancelot and Elaine. I think she was reading it when she was waiting for me to be born. I've always liked my name really, except for a long period in my childhood when I wished it were Patricia, but I answered to Elaine.
