Anne Broyles: Hello, my name is Anne Broyles. I was born Anne Louise Broyles and I still have the long list of names my parents considered when choosing my name. Anna Lisa, Margaret Ann, and many more possible names were not chosen. As a child, I would look at that list and wish my parents had chosen almost any of the other names. I've never been crazy about my first or last name, and I don't use my middle name at all. The funny story about my middle name is that my mother's younger sister is named Hilda Louise, so when my mom was pregnant with me, she asked Hilda, who had no children of her own at that point, if it would be okay to use Hilda's middle name as my middle name, a way to honor my mother's sister. Hilda replied, "I wouldn't name a dog Louise. I can't stand the name." My mother chose to give me the middle name Louise anyway.

Guess what? Exactly nine months after I was born and named Anne Louise, that same Aunt Hilda gave birth to a daughter, my cousin, who she named Cynthia Louise. So, my aunt, cousin, and I share the same middle name.
