Ann Whitford Paul: Hello, my name is Ann Whitford Paul. It's pronounced exactly the way it looks. The name is spelled A-N-N, although I've always wished that it were spelled with an E. But when I was born, Little Orphan Annie was a very popular comic strip, and my parents were very worried that people would call me Annie, so they left the e off of it. I always thought the name looked incomplete, so I'm very happy now that my husband, my two grown sons, and even my two year old granddaughter call me affectionately, Annie. I love it very much.
