Libba Bray: Hello. My name is Libba Bray. Libba is actually a nickname for Elizabeth. My full name is Martha Elizabeth Bray. I'll hear from teens and they'll be like, "Wait a minute. The copyright page says Martha E. Bray" and I have to say, "I know."

I've actually been called Libba my whole life.
It's this sort of obscure Southern nickname for Elizabeth. The only other Libba I have ever met in my life ended up going to my high school, which is like crazy. What are the odds?

Yeah.
Libba, it's unusual and a lot of times people get it wrong. I used to have a whole scrapbook full of times that people had gotten my name wrong. I think Fibby O'Ray was my favorite, that fine Irish girl, whoever she is. Anyway, that's how you say it. Libba Bray.
