James Cross Giblin: Hello, my name is James Craus Giblin. James was the name of my grandfather whom I never met. I'm Craus because that was my mother's maiden name. Giblin because that was my father's surname.

My father's family came from Ireland in the mid-19th century. I started using my middle name as a writer because I wanted to honor my mother as well as my father.

Although I think it's easy enough to pronounce, not everyone has over the years. I have been introduced on different occasions as "Mr. Jiblet". Those are funny instances, but some were embarrassing and had to be overcome. For instance, I was introduced as "Mr. Goblin" when I was auditioning for a part in a play in college.
