I was born Claire Rudolf, and everyone in my long life has insisted that I indeed must be related to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, spell it the same way too. The even often sing me the song. But I spell it with an F, not a PH. In Germany often Rudolf with an F is a first name, but in my family, somehow, Rudolf made it to America with an F. I'm also married to Bob Murphy, but I like to go by Claire Rudolf Murphy because like my husband said, there's millions of Murphys out there, Irish and Scottish, so I'm Claire Rudolf Murphy.
