Padma Venkatraman: Hello, my name is Padma Venkatraman. It looks rather frightening to several people, but it's not really. In fact, my first name is actually a lot longer. It's Padmavate.

My accent is not a hodge podge, because I've lived in about five countries before settling down in the states. But my name comes from India, where I was born.

Here's how to say it, the first name's quite easy, just two syllables, Padma. Not PAD-ma, but Padma. My second name is now a bit longer, but I'm going to break it down into syllables. The first syllable is Ven, like a German saying when. The second syllable is cut, like cutting cake. Not like a cat. The third syllable is Ra, like the Egyptian sun god I think he was. And the last syllable is mun. Well, just like I said it. So here's how it goes then, all together. Padma Venkatraman. Right then. Want to repeat it? Padma Venkatraman.
