We've got father's name coming first, followed by our mother's. When I first came to the U.S., I only used Gutiérrez to avoid confusion. But when my mom noticed, she was a little bit disappointed. So now I use both Gutiérrez and Hernández as my last name everywhere. This way they're both happy and for me it's a way of honoring both of them.
