Michael Redhead Champagne: My name is Michael Redhead Champagne. I'm so excited about having two whole families. Some people are really blessed to have multiple families. So the Redheads are my family from Shamattawa First Nation in Northern Manitoba. I'm a very proud Swampy Cree nēhinawēwin person. In Canada, we call that First Nations.
I also am adopted by this awesome family called the Champagnes from the North End of Winnipeg, and so I carry that name with me everywhere I go as well. I love the Champagnes so much because they take care of children in the foster system. And they have taught me that it's all of our responsibility to take care of all of the children all of the time.
And so carrying around the Redheads and the Champagnes with me everywhere I go makes me real proud to say My name is Michael Redhead Champagne.
