Thao Lam: Hi. My name is Thao Lam. And that's spelled T-H-A-O. And the H is silent. And it sounds like Tao, as in Taoism. My name was given to me by my grandmother, and it was the only thing that I took with me when my family escaped Vietnam when I was two. Many different pronunciations of Thao that I've gotten over the years is Thao, Tio, Toe, Towel. But the correct way to say it is Thao, and the H is silent, and it sounds like Tao, as in Taoism.
