Monica Kulling: Hi my name is Monica Kulling. When my father came to Canada from Switzerland, he spelled his last name with a double dot, called an umlaut over the u which gives Kulling the pronunciation, Kulling. In the German language, my first name is spelled with a "K" and is pronounced Monica so I grew up hearing my name pronounced Monica Kulling. When I started school, I was called Monica as in harmonica and Kulling as in rhyming with mulling and culling which, if you think about, is the perfect name for a writer. Someone who mulls over an idea and culls words to express it as clearly as possible.
