Isaac Blum: My name is Isaac Blum. Isaac in the Bible is the son of Abraham. It also means laughter.

And Blum is a, sort of, old country, presumably Yiddish derived name that's like an occupational last name for a florist. So, there were in the same way that you have lots of jewelry related Jewish last names like Goldstein or Silver, you also have lots of floral last names like Blum, Bloom, Blumenfeld, Blumstein, Blumberg, et cetera.

So, I enjoy the fact that my name, kind of, fits into this story of Jewish immigration from Eastern Europe to the United States. Along with lots of other Jewish Americans. I enjoy that little fact about my name. And I also enjoy humor. So, it's fun that my name means laughter.
