Melinda Salisbury: My name is Melinda Salisbury, and you pronounce that Melinda Salisbury and my name was a birthday gift. And it was not going to be my name at all. The plan was for me to be called Claire Louise. But due to a series of unfortunate events shortly after my birth, that's not the name I was given and I'm really glad because I can't imagine who I would be if I was a Claire Louise. I don't feel like a Claire Louise. I didn't know what Claire Louise does. I don't know if Claire Louise would've written The Sin Eater's Daughter or Hold Back The Tide or any of my other books. I feel like this other iteration of me, she might as well be in another dimension. It's not who I would've been. I'm very much Melinda. It's who I am. So that's something to be grateful for, I think.
