I love my name Meera because I find it as a common word or a name in several different cultures and countries around the world. The word Meera or the name Meera has its roots in Arabic, the language Arabic, but it also is a word in Sanskrit, which is an ancient language in India, but I also hear it here in California as a word Mira in Spanish, and I often turn around or look around like if someone is calling me, and I know there's a French name too, based on an actress that I know called Mira Sorvino. So, I just love that this name is universal, and it resonates with the kind of stories that I want to write to celebrate our multicultural world. So, again, my name is Mee-ra. Meera is my first name.
