Jessica Kulekjian: Hi, my name is Jessica Kulekjian and I get a lot of questions about how to pronounce my last name, especially because I'm a teacher and students and parents always want to say Miss "Kul-ek-jan". And I usually tell them, "Just call me Miss Jessica, no big deal." Or, "Miss K is fine too." But when people really do want to say it right, they have a few choices. Because I'm married into a beautiful Armenian family and different family members pronounce it different ways. I've heard Kulek-ji-an, Kulek-jan, Kulek-jee-an, Koo-lek-jian, emphasizing different parts of the name and most of the family says Kulek-shan, kind of like a stamp collection, book collection, rock collection. So I usually go with that one.
