Lois Miner Huey: I'm Lois Miner Huey. My first name Lois, although some people think my mother picked it up from the Superman books, is actually found in the Bible if you look hard enough. She wanted it to be a name that no one could make a nickname out of as her name was. But she was amazed to find out that people still called me Lolo.

Miner is my family name. They were people who dug lead in England near Bristol and in King Arthur country. There are a lot of Miners in the United States now, and I have gone back to visit the town a couple of times and found out more about my own family.

Huey is my husband's name. It would be Hughes in English, but this is Northern Irish. Originally, the Hueys came from Scotland and went to Northern Ireland and then came to America in the 1820s. That's how I live and pronounce my names.
