Alison Myers: Hi, my name is Alison Green Myers. Green isn't actually my middle name. It's my last name from growing up. I've always liked being able to say Alison Green, you know, green, like the color because green is my favorite color. When I was teaching, I loved being called Ms. Green or Ms. Alison. I don't think I even look up when someone says Ms. Myers. Who is that anyway?

I've never really connected with nicknames like Ally or Greenie, although the one nickname that stuck was from when I worked on a carnival and the show owner called me Big Al. I liked him calling me that. It made me feel really special. So you can call me Al or Alison, or if you want to be more formal, Ms. Alison. I promise to look up and I look forward to hearing your name too.
