L.B. Tillit: My name is pronounced L. B. Tillit. It is actually my pen name. Since I write in different genres, I knew I needed a pen name so that my readers would be able to pick up an L. B. Tillit book and find the same style and genre that they enjoyed before. My name is actually Leslie Parker Borhaug. My husband is Norwegian, and, when I married him, I took his last name, Borhaug, which is the English pronunciation. It is actually pronounced Bour-hauge, which we quickly changed to Boar-hog.
When I settled on a pen name, I took my initials, L. B., and then added another Norwegian word, tillit, which means trust. I chose this pen name for two reasons. One, I'm a terrible speller, and so I wanted something I could easily remember how to spell. It's a palindrome, spelled the same backward as forward. And secondly, and most importantly, I chose the name because I hope my readers can trust the journey I take them on so that, along the way, they may find strength and hope.
