Lucy Cuthew: Hello. My name's Lucy Cuthew. My family surname, Cuthew, is an unusual one, originating, we think, from Huguenot France. It's first found in the UK around the 1700s in Essex, where the censuses show a long line of paupers by the name of Cuthew around Norfolk. My father moved to Wales, so that's where I grew up and that's where my family lives now. I have heard people pronounce my surname Cut-HEW, COO-THEW, and CUH-Thew, but we say CUTH-you. Lucy Cuthew.
