Laureanna Raymond-Duvernell: My name is Laureanna Raymond-Duvernell. It's a lot to say. I was named after my mom's grandmother who was from the Philippines. She died when my lola, which is Filipino for "grandma," was young. And my lola always lamented this because she didn't like her new stepmother very much. My mom always loved the name of the lola that she never got to meet. But when she named me, she added an extra N into my name. I think it's a great way to blend a name, honoring a family member, but also making it unique.

My last name reflects me as an adult.
I'll always be a Raymond at heart, but my husband and I have a family together, too, so I'm happy to have Duvernell as a part of mine.
