Val Emmich: Hi. My name is Val Emmich. Val should be pretty clear; it's short for Valentine. The Emmich part trips people up. People often say Em-MITCH, but the CH is pronounced like a K. They just think of the German city, Munich, which also ends with a CH. And in fact, Emmich is a German name, originally spelled E-M-I-C-H. My grandfather added an M, but that's a story for another time.
