Samantha Clark: Hi. My name is Samantha M. Clark. That's Clark without an E, just C-L-A-R-K. That's my married name. But when I was growing up, my name was Samantha M. Defreitas. I had a lot of fun with Defreitas because nobody could pronounce it and nobody could spell it. One time, I got some mail and the person had spelled my name like De-fritos. But Defreitas is actually a Portuguese name, and my family is originally from Portugal, as well as from England and Ireland and all over. Then, when I was in college, I met my husband whose name is Clark. And so that's how I got Samantha M. Clark, but I'm still a Defreitas at heart.
