So sometimes people will hear my name, Karen Kingsbury, and they'll say, "Oh, that's a nice thing. Did you make that up? Maybe you made that up because it sounds like a great pen name."

Then, of course, I would have to say, "No, this is the name that I was given." I'm the oldest of five kids. Karen is a kind name and that's the thing. It means kindness of all things. So I truly love being Karen Kingsbury.
