Megan Freeman: Hi, my name is Megan E. Freeman. When I was a kid, I always thought that the name Megan meant brave and my whole life I thought I need to be brave because I need to live up to my name. And I think I made a lot of choices as a kid and as a young woman because I believed that my name meant brave and I had some really great adventures as a result of that.

And then when I was pregnant with my daughter and I was reading baby name books, I looked at my name and I found out that it actually means great. Not as in wonderful, great. As in large, like Megan means large and it really changed the way I thought about it. And I thought, wow, I wonder what would be different in my life if I had known all along that my name meant large and not brave. So I've had to think about my relationship to my name and what that means. And I'm really glad that for most of my young life, I thought my name meant brave.
