Kate Albus: Hi, my name is Kate Albus. My full first name is really Kathleen. And I like to think that I was named for both my grandmothers because I really like thinking about the family members that have gone before us. My grandmother on my mom's side was named Katherine, and my grandmother on my dad's side was from Northern Ireland. So, as I understand it, my parents gave Katherine a more Irish sound and ended up with Kathleen to honor both my grandmothers. I have had all sorts of nicknames over the years -- Kathy, Katie and Kathleen, if my mom was angry at me -- but these days I go by Kate.
