One time, I was in a soccer game as a little kid and scored a goal and that exciting news was in the local newspaper. And they spelled my last name, nerdy with an N, Verdy nerdy, which is pretty funny. Later, we decided that the correct pronunciation is the Italian word for green, Verdi. So that's what we say now.
