Kathleen Doherty: Hello, my name is Kathleen Doherty, but everyone who knows me calls me Kathy. Only the nuns in grammar school called me Kathleen. Then I'd sit up straight and pay attention. When I got married, I took my husband's name. Doherty is a common surname in Ireland. I've had students who couldn't pronounce Doherty and they'd call me Mrs. Dorothy.
