Ellen Hopkins: Hi, my name is Ellen Hopkins, which is pretty straightforward. The Ellen part of my name came from Glen Ellen, which was Jack London's home. My mom was a big reader and she loved classic lit, and so that's where she got that name from. The Hopkins came from my husband, which actually lead to my oldest fan, which was my father-in-law, Bill Hopkins, who just passed away at 87 years old. And he read every single thing I ever wrote, 'cause he loves having the Hopkins name on the cover of books.
