Paul Meisel: Hello. My name is Paul Meisel. Pronounced M-Y-Z-E-L-L, but spelled M-E-I-S-E-L. My grandfather came in 1913 on the Lusitania coming from Liverpool, arrived in New York at Ellis Island to be met by his Louis Meisel, with a different spelling, who had already been here for some time. My grandfather's spelling was put in differently from his brother. So, it's unclear whether his older brother who had been here longer was given the incorrect spelling, or if my grandfather was given the incorrect spelling.
