Tasha Kavanagh: Hi. My name's Tasha Kavanagh. My first name's actually Natasha, but no one's ever called me that, so it seemed odd to use it on the cover of a book. My last name, Kavanagh, is my husband's. It comes from Ireland, although he doesn't, at least not directly. I probably would have used my maiden name, Timms, but I'd already had some books for young children published under that name, and since the novel is so dark and disturbing, I was advised by my publishers to use another. I don't think they wanted to inadvertently terrify a five-year-old. It's just as well. And Kavanagh, I think, has a slightly sinister ring to it.
