Anica Mrose Rissi: Hello, my name is Anica Mrose Rissi which people mispronounce all kinds of ways. My first name Anica, spelled A-N-I-C-A is a combination of my two grandmothers' names. The A-N is from the beginning of Anna and the I-C-A is the end of Veronica. So I suppose I also could've been named Annika but my parents chose to pronounce it UH-NEE-KUH.

Mrose, my middle name, spelled M-R-O-S-E, is a Polish last name from my mother's side of the family. It's pronounced like"gross" with an "mmm."

Rissi (REE-see), my last name, spelled R-I-S-S-I, sounds Italian, but my father is from the German-speaking part of Switzerland and my Italian heritage is on the Mrose side of my family.

I have a lot of nicknames but most of my friends and family call me Nica (NEE-KUH).
