Linda Barrett Osborne: Hi. My name is Linda Barret Osborne. Before I was married, my name was Linda Barret. But before I was born, my parents had changed their name from Bikutsi to Barret. Bikutsi is an Italian name, and in the 1930s and 1940s, Italian Americans were still facing prejudice and discrimination. My family wanted to be accepted as Americans.
