A.H. Richardson: Hello, my name is Angela H. Richardson. It's a pretty easy name to remember, I think, and very easy to pronounce. And I am A. H. Richardson, the author of the Jorie stories. It is believed that Richardson went way, way back to son of Richard. This is several hundred years ago in England. So, you were son of Richard. If you were Davidson, you were son of David, if you were Williamson, you were son of William, and so on.

So, Richardson is not too difficult to remember. I always like to think that I came from Richard, the Lionheart, who was one of my favorite kings. That may or may not be the case. Of course, he could've been the village butcher too, but I prefer to think of myself descended from a king. I took the maiden name for my author name, which is Richardson. My father, Clive Richardson, was a very celebrated British composer and concert pianist. And I think he would rather like to have felt that I took my maiden name for writing.
