Moriah McStay: Hello, my name is Moriah McStay. I really like my name. I like that it's unusual. I think I'm the only Moriah McStay around. I've certainly never met another.

I spell my first name with an O, even though people are more familiar when Moriah is spelled with an A. But the O spelling is older. It's in the Old Testament, and this is where my parents say they found the name. At least, this is their explanation when they're feeling proper. When they're being honest, however, they admit I'm actually named after a song in the musical Paint Your Wagon. The song is called, "They Call the Wind Moriah".

My last name is unusual, too. Even in Ireland and Scotland, which is where the majority of my family comes from, it's not very common. McStay is my maiden name, but I decided to publish under it since no one will likely confuse me with another author, at least not based on name.

So that's it, a quick story of my name, Moriah McStay.
