Peggy Reiff Miller: Hello, my name is Peggy Reiff Miller. Peggy is often a nickname for Margaret, but I'm not a Margaret. My given name is Peggy. Peggy Lynn Reiff, so I use my maiden name of Reiff now as my professional middle name, because I was a Reiff for 22 years and I didn't want to give up that part of my identity when I got married. Reiff is a German name. My ancestors came to America in the late 1700s and there are Reiff all across the country now. Some of the families pronounce the name Reeff, but the German pronunciation is Reiff. Spelled with a single F, the German word means ripe, or mature, when used as an adjective. As a noun it means hoar frost, the sparkling frost you see when fog freezes onto trees. So that's me, Peggy Reiff Miller.
