That name was Auslander, which is a German word that means foreigner or outsider. After the war when the Russians, the Communist Government, took over Hungary, my father-in-law who was a teacher was told you cannot teach at our school unless you have a Hungarian name, so he picked Arato and that's how we became the Arato's.
