Teena Ruark Gorrow: Hello. My name is Teena Ruark Gorrow. Teena is my first name, and is spelled T-E-E-N-A, thanks to my innovative parents, who replaced the I in the usual spelling of Tina with two Es. Teena is a Latin name, which means strong, healthy, and follower of Christ. My maiden name is Ruark, and since marriage, is the name I use as my middle name. Ruark means champion, and was pronounced generations ago as O'Rourke by my Irish ancestors. Gorrow is my husband's family name, and now my last name. The Gorrows are French, and once pronounced their name as Gorrow. People often mispronounce Gorrow as Gorrow and Garrow, but it is correctly pronounced Gorrow, which rhymes with Zorro.
