Jessica Lawson: Hello, my name is Jessica Lawson. The last name Lawson has a long history, and its earliest form was 'law', it was a nickname of endearment, and it was very popular in the medieval period. The last name Lawson typically has English and Scottish roots, but that's not the case for me. My husband's great-great-grandfather was named Lars Larson, and he was Swedish. He changed his last name to Lawson when he came to America in order to assimilate, and sound more English, which he thought was an asset at the time. So I very easily might've turned out to be Jessica Larson, instead of Jessica Lawson
