K.G. Campbell: Hi. My name is K. G. Campbell. K. G. stands for Keith Gordon. I use my initials for two reasons. The first is that I'm not very fond of my name. Keith is a blunt economical sort of name. I've always wished I had a more artistic, unexpected one like Leopold or Monday. The second reason is that using your initials makes you sound more literary and smart than you really are. Think of J. M. Barrie, A. A. Milne, J. K. Rowling.

Campbell is an old Scottish name and I am actually from Scotland. It means curved or crooked mouth in Gaelic, an ancient language from Britain and Ireland. Supposedly, it started as a nickname for some beloved ancestor in the 1200s who talked from the side of his mouth, but I've often wondered if the real meaning is less literal and people started calling this guy crooked mouth because he was just a big, old liar.
