Cara Chow: Hello, my name is Cara Chow. Cara Chow, or to be exact, Cara Manhoon Chow became my legal name after I immigrated to the U. S. The original name given to me back in Hong Kong was Sal Manhoon. In Chinese, the last name comes first, so the Sal in Sal Manhoon because Chow and Manhoon became my middle name. As for my first name, my mother found Cara in a Western baby names book. She chose it because it was not too common and had few letters and was hence easy to spell. In retrospect, I think picking a Western first name was wise and kind on her part, because Westerners have trouble pronouncing my Chinese name.
