Sis Deans: Hello, my name is Sis Deans. Sometimes when I tell people my name over the phone, they think I'm saying Sistine, like the chapel in Rome, which always makes me laugh.

My real first name, the one my parents gave me when I was born, is Elizabeth. But, with seven brothers and sisters in the family, I was quickly nicknamed Sis, and it stuck. In fact, the only time my parents ever called me Elizabeth was when I was in trouble. Even today, if anyone ever refers to me as Elizabeth instead of Sis, it makes the hair rise on the back of my neck. Makes me automatically wonder, "Oh no, what did I do, now?"
