Shirley Reva Vernick: Hello, my name is Shirley Reva Vernick. I was named in memory of a great-great-aunt whom I never met, Sarah Reva. She raised my grandmother from the time she was a baby because my grandmother was orphaned in a hate crime in Russia. So I feel like I have my great-great-aunt to thank, not only for my name, but possibly also for my very life.
