Agnese Baruzzi: Hello, my name is Agnese Baruzzi. I know, it's a difficult name to pronounce because of the sound GN. It's a typical Italian sound and you don't usually use the same sound in English. In fact, I come from Italy and I was born of a typographer and a librarian.

My parents surround me with books growing up, and they also gave me a difficult name to pronounce. My surname, Baruzzi, also includes a very hard sound: double zed. I do have big troubles with this because I can't pronounce that correctly. I live in Bologna, a beautiful city very well known for its food and for its university. Everybody here has the same problem with zed. It's fun because everybody's zed here sounds like F, but elsewhere people can't understand my surname so I need to spell it for them.
