Julie Berry: Hello. My name is Julie Berry, Berry like the fruit. The name that I was born with is Juliana, and I didn't know that until I went to kindergarten, because my older siblings always called me Julie. So, I had somewhat of an identity shock when I arrived at kindergarten and was told that my name was Juliana. My kindergarten teacher spelled it with two Ns, and so that's how I learned to spell my name. J-U-L-I-A-N-N-A, and I went all through my elementary and junior high and high school career correcting people who misspelled my name with one N, telling them that I'm Julianna with two Ns rather indignantly, and a little self-righteously.

So, you can imagine my shock when I went to get a birth certificate at 16 in order to take my drivers test and found out that my name actually was Juliana
with one N, and in the five years between my birth and my kindergarten registration, my mother had forgotten how she spelled my name when she named me. I have never quite forgiven her for that, but I love her dearly, anyway. So, my life has been one of frequent name identity crises, and when I finally got married and my name became Berry, I changed it legally to Julianna with two Ns, but everyone calls me Julie Berry, and only the government and the bank know the difference.
