Tess Hilmo: Hello. My name is Tess Hilmo. It's a mouthful and I have to say it slowly-- Hilmo. Hilmo is the name of a farm in Norway. When they emigrated to America, they made a mistake and wrote where they were from on the name line. Can you imagine swapping out your last name for the name of where you live? So maybe Smith would become Chicago, or Jones would become Los Angeles, or maybe even Adams would become Chattanooga. My first name, Tess, comes from a classic novel my mother read and enjoyed before I was born, Tess of the d'Urbervilles.
