Audrey Vernick: Hello, my name is Audrey Vernick. When my husband was in college, nearly everyone there called him, "Ver-Nick," with, as we say, the emphasis on the wrong syllable. He never corrected them and to this day, some of his friends think I mispronounce my own last name.
