Buffy Silverman: Hello, my name is Buffy Silvermen. When I was born my parents named me Beth, but at two years old I pronounced Bethy as Bethy. The neighborhood kids began to call me Buffy and the name stuck.

Silverman is also an adopted name.
In Lithuania, my grandfather's last name was Lasdaskey 18]. My grandfather's brother had immigrated to the United States. When the brother went through Ellis island on official told him that Lasdaskey was too hard to pronounce and that he would be called Silverman. My grandfather's brother wrote a letter and told him that his name, too, should be Silverman when he came to this country, and so it was. That's how I became Buffy Silverman.
